Overview of research interests
The topic of my research is the Greek language. Through the close semantic and pragmatic analysis of texts I investigate questions connected to issues of mood and modality, primarily in ancient Greek.
You may find here further details of my current projects as well as articles and hand-outs available for download.
In 2007 I published The Moods of Homeric Greek, an extended reworking of work started in my PhD. I have made freely available for other Homeric scholars some of the raw data used in that work: a searchable database of all instances of the subjunctive and optative in the Iliad and the Odyssey.
