οἱ δ’ ἀπεκρίναντο ὅτι “καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπὶ τὴν ἡμετέραν χώραν ἔρχεσθε.” λέγειν ἐκέλευον οἱ στρατηγοὶ ὅτι “οὐ κακῶς γε ποιήσοντες, ἀλλὰ βασιλεῖ πολεμήσαντες ἀπερχόμεθα εἰς τὴν Ἑλλάδα, καὶ ἐπὶ θάλατταν βουλόμεθα ἀφικέσθαι.”
They answered "You are invading our country". And the generals ordered him to say "We are doing so not out of any wish to do you harm, instead we are coming into Greece to fight with the king and we want to reach the sea".
