ἐγὼ μὲν οὖν, ὦ ἄνδρες, οὐκ ἰδίαν ὑπὲρ ἐμαυτοῦ νομίζω ταύτην γενέσθαι τὴν τιμωρίαν, ἀλλ’ ὑπὲρ τῆς πόλεως ἁπάσης·

So I, gentlemen, do not consider that this punishment was personal, rather it was imposed for the sake of the whole city.
